I’ve been seeing Jay for years - he’s an amazing hairdresser and I am always happy with his expertise and attention to detail. My cuts are always flattering and grow out well. He’s simply the best. The entire team at Blake Charles is so warm and welcoming. Shout out to Paige for brows and Anita for color — always a pleasure to visit this beautiful salon.

Faina does amazing manicures! My mom has been Faina's client for many years. Mom's nails are always beautifully shaped, her manicure lasts for 4 weeks, and she chooses new fun & chic colors every time. I've started seeing Faina for shellac manicures - and what I love is that she's efficient, but it doesn't feel rushed. Being in the Blake Charles salon felt peaceful. It's clean, bright, and has an incredible view of Maiden Lane. The client before me was an adorable lady in her 90s - when I'm her age, I hope I look that good and still want to take care of myself! PS - there are fewer stylists working on Tuesdays, so Tuesday is a good day for manicures if you are looking for a quieter vibe

I've been coming to this salon for years to see my colorist, Malia, and the trip downtown is always worth it. I always joke that I've come in for my "age-lift" because I look 10 years younger when I leave! The staff is always welcoming and professional. The space is well-lit and temperature always comfortable.

Came to town for a wedding and was sent to Blake Charles for a hair and beard cut. The entire staff were amazing. Roy did such a fantastic job, was friendly and informative and even taught me some care tips. If I lived here, Roy would be my go to stylist. If you need hair care I highly recommend going to Blake Charles. Thank you all!!!!!

A short review because it's a weekend and my toddlers are sucking my energy reserves dry, but wanted to thank Jay for a modern and lovely take on a fresh haircut that has me feeling like the bob queen. I think next time I'll ask for less layers in the front, but otherwise I'm feeling bouncy and fabulous. Jay is undoubtedly a lovely human and a joy to talk to and most importantly, the only stylist that has ever been able to give me face framing layers due to my thin hair. EVER. Such a nice time. Funny thing, I went to Iron Horse for drinks after my haircut and the girl next to me couldn't stop raving about Blake Charles salon. Grateful for the opportunity to have my limp locks serviced there.

I booked online for someone to style my hair. I specified hollywood curls. Since I was only there visiting for a wedding, I assumed the salon would pair me with someone who knew how to do hollywood curls....NOPE. First of all Tony tried to use those infomercial steam curlers, lol. Then when that didn't work, he began to tease my roots which never held. Then he hairsprayed all of my hair, tried an actual Walmart iron curler but proceeded to brush out the curls. After 1.5 hrs he gave up and passed me along to the next stylist, wiggy. And bless her heart for trying but by that point there was little time that I had. I missed the beginning of the wedding. My hair was better after I did it myself (in the bathroom at the wedding.) I paid $150 + tip because Wiggy tried her best to fix the disaster that Tony left behind. In the end, I could've done a better job. Never again!
